Westfield Jazz with 2018 Guest Artist, Al Chez

jazz I ,  jazz II, & STage Band

Prerequisite: Co-enrollment in Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, or Concert Band and/or Director's approval through audition.

These groups study and perform a variety of literature, including swing, jazz, funk, and latin. Each year, these groups perform at concerts, adjudicated festivals, and various civic occasions. Special emphasis is placed on developing improvisation skills and ensemble playing. These ensembles rehearses 1-2 days a week after school including sectional rehearsals. Jazz auditions take place each year in mid-November and rehearsals typically begin in mid-December.
